The Tropical Rainforest Living Collection – Merisuli is located in the district of Lahad Datu, 40km north from the town of Lahad Datu. The site covers an area of 202 hectares located within the Ulu Segama – Malua Sustainable Forest Management Project (USM SFMP).

Merisuli’s location provides close connection between the renowned Danum Valley Conservation Area and is easily accessible via the Lahad Datu – Sandakan main road that ensures that seeds are germinated immediately after collection.

Through our efforts of collaborating with Sabah Forestry Department, agreed on 7th November 2012, in establishing a conservation site in Sabah, TRCRC aims to collect, germinate, and restore the degraded site with a collection of rare and endangered species. The site will prioritize on plant species outside of protected areas and we aim on ensuring that a repressive population is safeguarded on our site.
